146.920 Remote Base Frequencies

Prior to using a remote base the first time. Key in A1111 to drop the 146.920 from the linked systems. Once you have done this the remote base system is ready for you to use after the announcement that the linked system is down. The pre-programmed memory channels have been setup to make life a little bit easier to use the remote base system. Find the given memory channel that you would like to select and key in A525mm. MM represents the memory channel to use. Listen for the feed back from the repeater. It should respond with something as loading memory channel 13 as a example. The most important thing to remember is once you turn the remote base on to be sure that it is off prior to issuing any other remote base command. Even turning on or off the CTCSS requires that the remote base is off prior to making this change. Always use the least amount of power when programming the remote base. These are mobile radios and they are not designed for continuous duty. The power setting in the preprogrammed memory is already set to the correct power level to make a good clean contact with that given frequency.
To turn the remote base on key in A501. You should hear remote base is on as a response. To disable the remote base key in A500 or to place the repeater back into the linked systems key in A0000. Enjoy.....
